Association of depression and suicidal ideation with parenting style and stressful life events in adoles-cents
Objective:To study the association of depression and suicidal ideation with parenting style and stressful life events in adolescents.Method:10510 school students participated in the survey.The sur-vey tools included the general social information questionnaire,Egma Minnen av Bardndosnauppforstran(EM-BU)、Child Behavior Check List(CBCL)、Adolescent Self-rating Life Events Check List(ASLEC).A multivari-ate logistic regression analysis was used to identify the association.Results:Among these 10510 students,5.4%had depression,and 11.33%had suicidal ideation.Depression in adolescents was positively correlated with maternal punishing,overly-intervening,rejecting and stressful life events,but negatively correlated with ma-ternal warm and paternal favoring.Suicide ideation in adolescents was positively correlated with maternal overly-intervening,rejecting and paternal punishing,overly-intervening,and stressful life events,but negatively correla-ted with paternal overly-protecting.Conclusion:Parental care and harmonious interpersonal relationships may decrease the risk of depression and suicide ideation,otherwise may increase the risk of depression and suicide i-deation in adolescents.
