Evaluation of the efficacy of low-dose olanzapine combined with sertraline in the treatment of depressed adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury
Objective:To investigate the efficacy and tolerability of low-dose olanzapine combined with sertraline in the treatment of adolescents with depression associated with non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI).Method:A total of 60 adolescent depression patients with NSSI treated in our hospital were randomly selected and divided into the control group(30 cases oral sertraline)and the study group(30 cases oral sertraline combined with low-dose olanzapine). At baseline and at the end of week1,week2,and week4 after treatment,Hamilton depression scale-17 items(HAMD-17)and Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)were used to evaluate the overall efficacy of the two groups, the occurrence of NSSI behavior was assessed by Ottawa self-injury inventory(OSI).Results:There were no significant difference in HAMD-17 and HAMA scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05);at the end of week1,week2,and week4 after treatment,HAMD-17 and HAMA scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the incidence of NSSI behavior in the study group was lower than that of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the recovery rate and effective rate of the study group were higher than those of the control group with statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Low dose olanzapine combined with sertraline is effective in the treatment of depressive adolescents with NSSI.
