Effect of anxiety level on the frequency of non-suicidal self injury in depressed patients:the mediating role of emotion regulation
Objective:To investigate the mediating role of emotion regulation strategy in the frequency of anxiety and non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI).Method:252 patients with depressive episodes were collected, and the frequency of self-injury and functional assessment of self-mutilation,self-rating anxiety scale, emotional regulation scale and self-compiled demographic questionnaire were used for evaluation. The correlation between anxiety, emotion regulation and NSSI frequency in depressive episodes were analyzed, and the mediation effect was tested. Results:The incidence of patient NSSI was 47.6%.Anxiety status(r=0.358,P<0.001)and expression suppression strategy(r=0.411,P<0.001)in the NSSI group was positively correlated with NSSI frequeny;cognitive reassessment strategy was negatively correlated with NSSI frequency(r=-0.397,P<0.001).The emotion regulation strategy had some mediation effect between anxiety state and NSSI frequency, with the effect proportion of 21.74%-33.33%.Conclusion:The emotion regulation strategy of patients with depressive episodes plays a mediating role in the frequency of anxiety degree and NSSI,suggesting that attention should be paid to the anxiety state of patients with depressive episodes and cognitive reevaluation.
