Research progress of non-coding RNA in alcohol use disorder gene regulation
Alcohol use disorder(AUD)is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.Long-term and chronic consumption of alcohol causes permanent changes in gene expression networks in the brain.Non-protein-coding RNA(ncRNA)is considered to be a class of RNA involved in regulating gene expression in neuropsychiatric diseases.Such RNA molecules play an important role in AUD mechanism by specifically regulating the post-transcriptional translation process of target genes and a series of synaptic responses.ncRNA are involved in enzyme and neurotransmitter reaction systems during alcohol metabolism.Alcohol consumption regulates the expression of ncRNA,mediates epigenetic modifications and synaptic plasticity, which are considered to be important regulators of gene expression.A deeper understanding of the role of ncRNA in AUD may provide new ideas for targeted therapy.
