A case report of methemoglobinemia caused by Metovir-indocarb poisoning
Metovir-indocarb is a new insecticide,which is a mixture of metre-salt and indocarb,and its toxic component is indocarb.A small number of poisoning cases have been reported at home and abroad.Now report a case of metovir-indocarb poisoning.Indocarb has aromatic metabolites,which can be biotransformed into active intermediates for producing methemoglobin,causing methemoglobinemia.The amount of methemoglobin can de-crease to normal after methylene blue treatment.
