Interferons are a group of multifunctional cytokines with immune and antiviral functions.They play important roles in systemic diseases,central nervous system antiviral and immunomodulatory roles.However,it may contribute to the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease(PD)by affecting inflammation and immune protein deposition.In recent years,more and more studies have focused on the effect of interferon on the pathogenesis and symptoms of PD.This article reviewed the effects of interferon on the pathogenesis and symptoms of PD.
