Intracranial tandem aneurysms are rare cerebrovascular lesions. The hemodynamic characteristics of each aneurysm of this lesion will interact with one another, which leads to great risks and challenges in surgical treatment of this disease. The etiology and hemodynamic characteristics of intracranial tandem aneurysms remains unclear. At present, there are no standards for the treatment of this lesion at home and abroad, and it is very dangerous for different medical centers to follow different surgical principles.Although endovascular therapy is currently the main method of managing such lesions, neurosurgical management can be an option that should not be ignored in some specific cases. To improve the prognosis and provide appropriate treatment choices for the patients with this lesion, the pathogenesis and hemodynamic characteristics of tandem intracranial aneurysms need to be further investigated in the future.
