Clinical effectiveness of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with attention training in the treatment of schizophrenia
Objective To explore the clinical effectiveness of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)plus attention training in the treatment of schizophrenia. Methods Eighty-eight schizophrenics were divided into control and research group according to random number table method, with 44 ones in each.Controls were treated with risperidone+rTMS and research group was plus attention training on the basis of controls, for 4 weeks.Such indexes were compared between two groups as clinical effectiveness, the occurrence of adverse reactions,pre-and post-treatment scores on the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status(RBANS)and Scale of Social function in Psychosis Inpatients(SSPI),and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)levels.Results After treatment, the clinical total effective rate was higher in research than control group(P<0.05).After treatment, scores on the RBANS and SSPI in both groups elevated compared with pre-treatment and those were higher in research than control group;5-HT levels in both groups lowered compared with pre-treatment and that was lower in research than control group(P<0.01).Intergroup difference in the incidence of adverse reactions weren't statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of rTMS and attention training has a significant effect in the treatment of schizophrenia, can improve clinical symptoms, social function and cognitive function, has fewer adverse reactions, and is safe and reliable.
