The impact of preoperative pre-adaption on postoperative function, quality of life and anxiety status of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty
Objective To explore the effect of preoperative pre-adaptation on postoperative function, quality of life and anxiety status of osteoarthritis patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty(TKA).Methods A total of 120 patients undergoing the TKA from Jan.2021 to Dec.2022 were selected as research objects and divided into observation and control group, with 60 ones in each.Observation group received preoperative pre-adaption training and controls did not.Operation time, intraoperative blood loss, lengths of stay, postoperatiev complications and satisfactions were compared between two groups. Before and on the 4th day after operation, knee functions, quality of life and anxiety status were assessed for both groups using Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS)Knee Score,36-item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)and Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),respectively. Results Intergroup differences in operation time, intraoperative blood loss and lengths of stay weren't statistically significant(P>0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications was lower and satisfaction higher in observation than control group(P<0.05 or 0.01).On the 4th day after operation,HSS and SF-36 score elevated and HAMA lowered in both groups compared with pre-operation,and observation group was better than controls group(P<0.01).Conclusion Preoperative pre-adaptation has a positive effect on osteoarthritis patients undergoing the TKA and can be widely used.
