Effect of MBCT in patients with somatoform disorder
Objective To observe the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy(MBCT)in patients with somatoform disorders. Methods A total of 102 patients with somatoform disorders were randomly divided into observation and control group, with 51 ones in each.Controls received conventional medication and relaxation training and observation group was plus the MBCT on the basis of controls, continuously for 8 weeks.Such indexes were compared between two groups as clinical effects, anxious symptoms(Hamilton Anxiety Scale[HAMA]scores),depressive symptoms(Hamilton Depression Scale[HAMD]scores),and mental symptoms(Symptom Checklist-90[SCL-90]scores).Results The clinical total effective rate was higher in observation than control group(P<0.05).After 4 and 8 week treatment, the scores on the HAMA,HAMD and SCL-90 in both groups continuously lowered compared with pre-treatment and those were lower in observation than control group(P<0.01).Conclusion Conventional medication and relaxation training plus the MBCT has a remarkable effect in patients with somatoform disorders, can relieve various symptoms, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
