Application effect of FOCUS couples intervention in middle-aged and young patients with gynecological malignancies
Objective To explore the impact of FOCUS(family involvement,optimistic attitude,coping effectiveness,uncertainty reduction,and symptom management)couples intervention on psychological resilience,dyadic coping,self-perceived burden and quality of life of middle-aged and young patients with gynecological malignancies.Methods A total of 112 middle-aged and young patients with gynecological malignancies treated from Nov.2022 to Oct.2023 were randomly divided into control and observation group,with 56 ones in each.Controls received routine intervention and observation group did FOCUS couples intervention on the basis of controls.Before and after intervention psychological resilience,dyadic coping,self-perceived burden and quality of life were assessed for both groups using the Chinese version of Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Dyadic Coping Inventory(DCI),Self-Perceived Burden Scale(SPBS),and World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF),respectively.Results After intervention,each dimension scores of both the CD-RISC and WHOQOL-BREF as well as DCI scores in both groups elevated compared with pre-intervention and those were higher in observation than control group(P<0.01);each dimension scores of the SPBS in both groups decreased compared with pre-intervention and those were lower in observation than control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The application of FOCUS couples intervention in middle-aged and young patients with gynecological malignancies has a good effect and is worthy of clinical promotion.
