Curative effect of acupuncture combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of infantile autism
Objective To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMA)in the treatment of infantile autism. Methods A total of 106 children with infantile autism were divided into observation and control group, with 53 ones in each.Controls received the TMS and observation group did acupuncture treatment on the basis of controls. Before and after treatment the Childhood Autism Rating Scale(CARS),Autism Behavior Checklist(ABC),Developmental Quotient(DQ),Chinese version of Psychoeducational Profile(C-PEP)and Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist(ATEC)were used to assess clinical symptoms, clinical effects, behavior condition, cognitive function, development function and social ability in both groups, respectively. Results After treatment, the CARS scores, social ability scores of the ATEC and each dimension scores of the ABC lowered in both groups compared with pre-treatment and those were lower in observation than control group(P<0.01),each dimension scores of both the DQ and C-PEP elevated and those were higher in observation than control group(P<0.01).The total clinical effective rate was higher in observation than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of acupuncture and TMS has an ideal effect in infantile autism and is worthy of clinical promotion.
