Surveys of satisfaction based on two-factor theory in medical staff at a tertiary A psychiatric hospital and analyses of influencing factors
Objective To investigate the actualities of satisfaction of medical staff at psychiatric hospital and analyze the factors influencing the satisfaction using the two-factor theory to provide reference for improving their satisfaction.Methods The data were collected using questionnaire survey method and statistically analyzed using SPSS 22.0,t-test and one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA)were used to analyze the each dimension satisfaction in medical staff,and linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of satisfaction.Results Differences in satisfaction from different dimensions of demographic characteristics and those in satisfaction among medical staff with different working years weren't statistically significant(P>0.05).Differences in the development and promotion among medical staff with different genders were statistically significant(P<0.05).Differences in the working contents,working environments and the relationship between superiors and subordinates among medical staff with different educational levels and in different positions were statistically significant(P<0.05 or 0.01).Differences in remuneration and benefits,development and promotion,superior-subordinate relationship,peering relationship among medical staff with different titles were statistically significant(P<0.05 or 0.01).A binary Logistic regression analysis of the factors affecting medical staff satisfaction showed that working years,positions and titles are the influencing factors of medical staff satisfaction(P<0.05 or 0.01).The satisfaction of medical staff with more than 20 working years was lower than that of those with less than 10 working years(OR=0.461,95%CI:0.241~0.882).The satisfaction of physicians was lower than that of medical and technical staff(OR=3.483,95%CI:1.405~8.634).The satisfaction of medical staff with intermediate and junior titles was lower than that of medical staff with senior titles(OR=0.209,0.185,95%CI:0.054~0.805,0.044~0.776).Conclusion Individual differences affect the different dimensions satisfactions of medical staff,satisfaction is lower in medical staff with intermediate title,and hospital internal management should be enhanced according to the needs of different medical staff to eliminate the discontent emotions of medical staff,activate their enthusiasm and improve their satisfaction.
