Curative effect of clozapine plus agomelatine in the treatment of negative symptoms of schizophrenia
Objective To explore the curative effect of clozapine plus agomelatine in the treatment of negative symptoms of schizophrenia.Methods Sixty-nine schizophrenics were assigned to research(n=35)and control(n=34)group according to random number table method.Controls received clozapine plus placebo treatment and research group did clozapine plus agomelatine for 12 weeks.Before and after treatment,clinical and negative symptoms were assessed for both groups using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS)and Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms(SANS)respectively.Results After treatment,the total,general psychopathological and negative symptom score of the PANSS lowered compared with pre-treatment in research group,score on the negative symptom was lower in research than control group(P<0.01),SANS score was lower in research group compared with pre-treatment(P<0.01).Conclusion The combination of clozapine and agomelatine significantly improves negative symptoms of schizophrenics and has good potential for clinical application.
