Objective Seizure-like activity refers to the abnormal spike of neurons in the brain induced by various reasons, resulting in paroxysmal involuntary tremors, convulsions,or even general rigidity of one or more muscle groups local-ly or throughout the body, with or without EEG abnormalities.Convulsion may appear in the patients during general anesthesia or intraspinal anesthesia, suggesting that anesthetics can induce seizure-like activities, and the mechanism may be different. This article summarizes the current research progress and possible mechanism of perioperative anesthetics-induced epileptiform activity.
