Objective To investigate the clinical effect and postoperative complications of vaginal sacrospinous liga-ment fixation(SSLF)in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse(POP).Methods A total of 68 patients with POP admitted from January 2018 to February 2022 were divided into observation group(n =34)and control group(n =34)by random num-ber table method. The observation group was treated with vaginal hysterectomy combined with SSLF,and the control group was treated with vaginal hysterectomy combined with anterior or posterior vaginal wall repair.Duration of operation, intraoperative blood loss, length of postoperative hospital stay, pelvic floor dysfunction questionnaire(PFDI-20),PFIQ-7 scores before and after operation, and incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The duration of operation and length of postoperative hospital stay of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the amount of intraoperative blood loss was also significantly reduced(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in preopera-tive POP-Q measurement values at each indicator point between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).Compared with the values measured at each indicator point of POP quantitative indexing method before surgery, the postoperative measurement values of the two groups were significantly lower, especially the observation group(P<0.05).There was no significant differ-ence in preoperative PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After surgery,PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 scores in the two groups were significantly decreased, especially in observation group(P<0.05).The incidence of postopera-tive complications in the observation group was 5.88%(2/34),which was lower than that in the control group[26.47%(9/34)],showing significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion SSLF can significantly improve the pelvic floor function in the treatment of POP,showing a pronounced effect, and the incidence of postoperative complications is low.
