Effect of External Counterpulsation of Acupoints-assisted Conventional Treatment in Heart Failure Accompanied by Insomnia Caused by Syn-drome of Qi and Yin Deficiency Combined with Blood Stasis
Objective To investigate the effect of external counterpulsation of acupoint-assisted conventional treat-ment in patients with heart failure accompanied by insomnia caused by syndrome of Qi and Yin deficiency combined with blood stasis. Methods A total of 120 patients with heart failure and insomnia caused by syndrome of Qi and Yin deficiency com-bined with blood stasis treated from October 2021 to October 2022 were selected and divided into observation group(n =60)and control group(n =60)by random number table method. The control group received conventional treatment, and the ob-servation group was supplemented with external counterpulsation of acupoints on the basis of the above conventional treatment. The clinical efficacy, incidence of major cardiovascular adverse events(MACE)and safety of the two groups were compared.TCM syndrome score, cardiac function index[left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),stroke output(SV),cardiac volume(CO)],serum index[NT-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor(NT-proBNP),myocardial creatine kinase isoenzyme(CK-MB)],Pittsburgh Sleep quality index(PSQI)and Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire(LHFQ)score be-fore and after treatment were compared. Results At 14 days after treatment, the total effective rate of TCM syndrome and cardiac function in the observation group were 98.33%and 88.33%,respectively,which were higher than those in the con-trol group(83.33%and 73.33%,P<0.01,P<0.05).After treatment,TCM syndrome scores, scores of various dimen-sions of PSQI scale and various fields of LHFQ scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,LVEF,SV and CO levels were higher than those in the control group, and serum NT-proBNP and CK-MB levels were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 6 months after follow-up,the incidence of MACE in the observation group was 6.90%,which was lower than that in the control group(19.64%,P<0.05).No obvious adverse reactions were observed in the two groups. Conclusion The combination of acupoint stimulation and external counterpulsation technique can improve the heart function of patients with heart failure accompanied by insomnia caused by syndrome of Qi and Yin deficiency combined with blood stasis, relieve clinical symptoms, improve sleep quality and quality of life, reduce the incidence of MACE,and regulate the level of serum NT-proBNP and CK-MB,with definite effect.
