Clinical Effect of Bifidobacterium Triple Viable Bacteria Combined with Lactulose and Simo Decoction in the Treatment of Constipation in Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Clinical Effect of Bifidobacterium Triple Viable Bacteria Combined with Lactulose and Simo Decoction in the Treatment of Constipation in Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To explore the efficacy of bifidobacterium triple live bacteria combined with lactulose and Simo decoction in the treatment of constipation in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 100 elderly T2DM patients with constipation treated in our hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected and randomly divided into control group(n =50)and research group(n =50).Both groups were treated with lactulose and Simo decoction,and the research group was also treated with bifidobacterium triple live bacteria.The therapeutic effect,constipation symptom score,intestinal flora,intestinal barrier function indexes[endotoxin lipopolysaccharide(LPS),diamine oxidase(DAO),D-lactic acid(DLA)],gastrointestinal motility indexes[oro-colonic transit time(OCTT),somatostatin(SS),and motilin(MTL)],and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the research group[96.00%(48/50)]was higher than that of the control group[82.00%(41/50)](P＜0.05).At 2 and 4 weeks after treatment,the scores of dry stools,incomplete defecation,prolonged defecation interval,and defecation pain in the research group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01).At 2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment,the number of bifidobacterium and lacto-bacillus colonies in the research group was higher than that in the control group,while the number of bacillus and enterobacter colonies was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.01).Serum LPS,DAO and DLA levels of the research group were lower than those of the control group at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment(P＜0.01).At 2 and 4 weeks after treatment,OCTT and plasma SS levels were lower in the research group than in the control group,while the levels of plasma MTL were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.01).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of bifidobacterium triple live bacteria combined with lactulose and Simo decoction in the treatment of elderly T2DM patients with constipation is remarkable,and it can improve the intestinal flora,in-testinal barrier function,and gastrointestinal dynamics of the patients more effectively.
