Objective To observe the effect of drug-loaded microspheres combined with transhepatic artery chemoem-bolization(TACE)in the treatment of patients with primary liver cancer(PLC).Methods From June to December 2021,60 pa-tients with PLC were selected and divided into research group and control group according to the hospitalization number of the patients. The research group was treated with TACE combined with CalliSpheres drug-loaded microsphere, and the control group was treated with conventional TACE.Clinical efficacy, blood routine, liver function indicators, and α-fetoprotein(AFP)levels were observed, and safety was assessed. Results After treatment, hemoglobin, platelet count, and albumin decreased,as com-pared with those before treatment, while total bilirubin, alanine transaminase, and aspartate transaminase increased(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference in above indicators between the two groups at one week after surgery(P>0.05).The AFP level in the research group after treatment was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The compli-cations and toxic and side effects in the research group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate was higher in the research group than in the control group[86.67%(26/30)vs.63.33%(19/30)](P<0.05).The 1-,2-year overall survival rates and local control rate of the research group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction score of the research group[(79.14±16.37)points]was higher than that of the control group[(64.35±17.22)points](P<0.01).Conclusion The combination of drug-loaded microspheres and TACE is effective in the treatment of PLC,which can effectively prolong the survival of patients, reduce complications and toxic and side effects and improve the quality of life.
