Impact of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Insomnia on Mindfulness and Polysomnography Parameters in Elderly pa-tients with Non-organic Insomnia
Objective To explore the application value of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for insomnia in elder-ly patients with non-organic insomnia. Methods A total of 105 elderly patients with non-organic insomnia treated from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected and divided into control group(n=52)and research group(n=53)by random number table method. The control group received conventional intervention, and the research group received mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for insomnia. The awareness rate of insomnia knowledge, medication compliance, polysomnography parameters before and after the intervention,Five-factor Mindfulness Awareness Scale(FFMQ)score, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)were measured and compared in the two groups. Results After intervention, the total awareness rate of insomnia knowledge and medication compliance of the research group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the con-trol group,FFMQ score of the research group was higher and PSQI score was lower at 3 and 6 weeks after intervention(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the research group had higher sleep efficiency, longer total sleep time, shorter sleep latency and fewer awakenings at 3 and 6 weeks after intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for insomnia in elderly patients with non-organic insomnia can enhance the level of mindfulness,im-prove sleep quality, improve medication compliance, and delay the disease process.
