Diabetic foot(DF)is a serious complication of diabetes which has a high amputation rate,high disability rate and high mortality rate,and its high treatment cost and post-treatment nursing cost will cause a heavy burden on society and family.Due to the complexity of the pathogenesis of DF and the variability of clinical manifestations,the disease is not easily detected in the early stage,leading to difficulty in making clinical diagnosis and timely treatment.Both Western medi-cine and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment of DF have their own advantages and disadvantages.With the gradual deepening of the research on DF,the treatment methods of TCM and Western medicine for DF are also constantly developing and innovating,and the combination of TCM and Western medicine for DF has better clinical effects.In this study,the patho-genesis,disease classification and treatment methods of DF are described,and the progress in the treatment of DF by the com-bination of TCM and Western medicine is analyzed,pointing out that exercise therapy and TCM guidance as potential treatment methods need to be more fully utilized and more systematically studied.
