Relationship of Serum Levels of Fibroblast Growth Factor 1 and Chitosi-nase 3-like Protein-1 with Bone Metabolism in Diabetic Patients with Osteo-porosis
Objective To investigate the relationship between serum levels of fibroblast growth factor 1(FGF1),ch-itosinase 3-like protein-1(Chi3L1)and bone metabolism in diabetic patients with osteoporosis. Methods A total of 80 pa-tients with diabetes mellitus combined with osteoporosis admitted from March 2021 to March 2024 were included in the osteo-porosis group.Another 50 patients with simple diabetes were selected and included in the control group. The levels of FGF1,Chi3L1,bone metabolism and glycolipid metabolism were compared between the two groups.Pearson coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between serum FGF1,Chi3L1 and bone metabolism in diabetic patients with osteoporosis.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of osteoporosis in diabetic patients. The diagnostic value of serum FGF1 and Chi3L1 for osteoporosis in diabetic patients was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. Results FGF1,type Ⅰ collagen carboxy-terminal peptide β special sequence(β-CTX),parathyroid hormone(PTH)and glycosy-lated hemoglobin in osteoporosis group were higher than those in control group, while Chi3L1,total type Ⅰ collagen amino terminal propeptide(T-PⅠNP),25-hydroxyvitamin D(25-OH-D)and osteocalcin(OCN)were lower than those in control group(P<0.01).In diabetic patients with osteoporosis, serum FGF1 was positively correlated with β-CTX and PTH,and negatively correlated with T-PⅠNP,25-OH-D and OCN(P<0.01).Serum Chi3L1 was negatively correlated with β-CTX and PTH,but positively correlated with T-PⅠNP,25-OH-D and OCN(P<0.01).FGF1,Chi3L1,T-PⅠNP,25-OH-D,β-CTX,PTH,and OCN were the risk factors for osteoporosis in diabetic patients(P<0.01).The area under the ROC curve of serum FGF1 and Chi3L1 in the diagnosis of osteoporosis was 0.925 and 0.803,respectively.Conclusion The levels of serum FGF1 and Chi3L1 were abnormal in patients with diabetes complicated with osteoporosis, and were significantly correla-ted with bone metabolism.
