Objective: To investigate the correlation between polymorphism at position 511C/T in the promotor region and +3953C/T in the fifth exon region of interleukin 1β (IL-1β) and chronic heart failure (CHF).Method: We selected the CHF group and healthy group.Genomic DNA were extracted from 5 ml vein blood, then the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism technique was applied to analyze the polymorphism of IL-1β-511 and +3953C/T.Result:The frequency of IL-1β-511 T allele was higher in CHF group than that in healthy group (P＜0.05).The frequency at IL-1β +3953 locus in CHF did not differ from control group.Conclusion:The polymorphism at position-511C/T in IL 1β is associated with CHF.T allele is the susceptibility genetic mark of some CHF patients.
