Changes of retinal blood flow parameters and choroidal thickness in macular area before and after treatment for macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion
Objective The study the changes of macular retinal blood flow parameters and subfoveal choroid thickness(SFCT)in patients with central retinal vein occlusion(CRVO)secondary to macular edema(ME)before and af-ter treatment, and to explore the relationship between SFCT and patients'vision. Methods A total of 29 patients with CRVO secondary macular edema who were treated in Anhui NO.2 Provincial People,s Hospital from Dec.2019 to Aug.2022 were included in the study, and all patients received intraocular injection of Conbercept.Slit lamp, best corrected vi-sual acuity(BCVA),and optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)were performed before treatment and at 1 month of treatment, respectively. The changes of SFCT,foveal avascular zone(FAZ),vessel length density(VLD)and perfusion density(PD)before and after treatment were automatically measured by software.Paired t test was used to com-pare the preoperative and postoperative examination results, and Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the re-lationship between SFCT and the visual acuity of patients. Results There were no significant differences in VLD and PD of superficial retinal capillary network in macular area,fovea,para-fovea and total area(P>0.05).Before treatment, the mean SFCT of the affected eye and the contralateral healthy eye were(325.02±64.91)µm and(255.88±50.40)µm,re-spectively,with significant difference(P<0.01,paired t test). At 1 month after injection, the mean SFCT of the affected eye rapidly changed to(260.15±49.36)µm,which was significantly different from that before treatment(P<0.01,paired t-test).BCVA increased from(55.94±10.67)letters before treatment to(62.50±13.55)letters,with significant difference(P<0.05,paired t test). The correlation coefficients between SFCT and BCVA before and after surgery were-0.774 and-0.937,respectively.Conclusions After intravitreal injection of Conbercept,SFCT of ME secondary to CRVO was sig-nificantly decreased and BCVA was significantly increased, indicating a significant correlation between the two.In addi-tion,the treatment of compacciprix had no significant effect on retinal blood flow parameters in macular area.
