Comparison of the application effects of 3D printed invisible appliance without brackets and fixed appliance in patients undergoing orthodontics treatment
Objective To compare the application effects of 3D printed invisible appliance without brackets and fixed appliance in patients undergoing orthodontics treatment. Methods A total of 86 patients undergoing orthodontics treatment admitted in our hospital from April 2019 to April 2021 were selected as the study objects.According to random number table method, the patients were divided into control group(n=43,fixed appliance)and study group(n=43,3D printed invisible appliance without brackets). The clinical efficacy, detection of subgingival pathogens, serum indexes and oral function of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the detection rates of Porphyromonas gingivalis,Fusobacterium nucleatum,Streptococcus mutans and Tannerella forsythia in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of prostaglandin E2(PGE2),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)and matrix metalloproteinase-8(MMP-8)in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the masticatory efficacy, maximum bite force and bite rate of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the fixed appliance, the 3D printed invisible appliance without brackets has little effect on the oral function of patients undergoing orthodontics treatment, and can improve the oral flora and serum indexes, which is conducive to obtaining good therapeutic effect.
