Analysis of influencing factors for carotid stenosis
Objective To analyze the influencing factors for carotid stenosis. Methods A total of 3 500 patients who underwent ultrasound screening of the extracranial segment of carotid artery in the neurology department of Huangshi Love and Health Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects, and the influencing factors of carotid stenosis were anlyzed. Results Among the 3 500 patients,891 had normal carotid artery,2 472 had carotid stenosis rate<50%,and 137 had carotid stenosis rate≥50%;the positive rate of carotid stenosis was 74.54%.There were statistically significant differences in age, gender, family history, obesity, smoking history, drinking history, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, cerebral infarction, cervical spondylosis and abnormal C-reactive protein(CRP)between carotid stenosis and normal carotid patients(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age, gender, family history, obesity, smoking history, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, cerebral infarction, cervical spondylosis, and abnormal CRP were independent influencing factors for carotid stenosis(P<0.05).Conclusion There are many factors affecting carotid stenosis.Regular monitoring of blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid, and determination of artery stenosis degree by carotid ultrasound to predict cerebrovascular events are of great significance for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of high-risk stroke population. At the same time, attention should be paid to the youth population, and correctable risk factors should be identified in a timely manner for early intervention,in order to minimize the risk of stroke in asymptomatic populations.
