Objective To explore the application effect of ideological and political course in the clinical teaching of"liver cirrhosis"in gastroenterology department.Methods The students who studied in gastroenterology department of Daxing Teaching Hospital of Capital Medical University from January 1,2022 to October 31,2022 were selected as experimental group,and the teaching method of integrating the ideological and political course into the curriculum was adopted;at the same time,students with the same academic ability who studied in gastroenterology department of Daxing Teaching Hospital of Capital Medical University from January 1,2021 to October 31,2021 were selected as control group,and the traditional teaching method was adopted,with 35 students in each group.The basic theoretical knowledge assessment results,clinical ability assessment results,political literacy assessment results and teaching quality of the two groups were compared to evaluate the teaching effect.Results The scores of basic theoretical knowledge assessment,clinical ability and political literacy assessment in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The proportion of"very good + better"in all aspects of the teaching quality questionnaire of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The teaching method of integrating ideological and political course into the curriculum can not only strengthen and improve the basic theoretical knowledge level and clinical operation ability of medical students,but also help to cultivate the lofty sense of mission and professionalism of medical students,and enhance the political literacy such as the firm professional belief of doctors,and then improve the comprehensive quality of medical students in an all-round way,so as to achieve the new goal of"cultivating morality + cultivating talents"and promote the development of medical education in the new era.
