Effects of ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block on hemodynamics and postoperative cognitive function in patients undergoing lower limb fracture surgery
Objective To investigate the effects of ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block on hemodynamics and postoperative cognitive function in patients undergoing lower limb fracture surgery. Methods Sixty patients with lower limb fracture surgery admitted in our hospital from April 2020 to March 2022 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group(n=30,routine general anesthesia)and observation group(n=30,ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block)by random number table method. The pain, hemodynamic indexes, adverse reactions and cognitive function were compared between the two groups. Results The pain of the two groups gradually increased at 2-12 h after operation, and stabilized at 12-24 h after operation. At 2,6,12 and 24 h after operation, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Immediately after intubation, the heart rate(HR)and mean arterial pressure(MAP)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after intubation for 5 min,the HR of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);after intubation for 5 min, there was no significant difference in MAP between the two groups(P>0.05).The total incidence of anesthesia and surgical adverse reactions in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 2 and 24 h after operation, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block can effectively reduce the pain of patients with lower limb fracture surgery, make hemodynamics more stable, has less adverse reactions and less impact on patients'cognitive function, which is worthy of promotion and application.
