Effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with trigger point massage therapy on scapulohumeral periarthritis and its influences on shoulder function and inflammatory factors levels
Objective To explore the effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with trigger point massage therapy on scapulohumeral periarthritis and its influences on shoulder function and inflammatory factors levels. Methods Eighty patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis treated from March 2020 to March 2021 were selected as the study objects and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with conventional western medicine, while the control group was given trigger point massage therapy, and the observation group was treated with warm acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of each dimension of Constant-Murley shoulder joint rating scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1)and matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with trigger point massage therapy can not only improve the clinical therapeutic effect of patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis, ameliorate shoulder function, but also inhibit the levels of inflammatory factors, which is worthy of promotion.
