Analysis of cognition and demand of medical students in a third-level general hospital on the application of virtual reality technology in clinical skills training
Objective To investigate the cognition and demand of medical students on the application of virtual reality(VR)technology in clinical skills training.Methods By using the convenient sampling method,medical students(including interns,professional postgraduates and academic postgraduates)who underwent clinical skills training in the Second Hospital of Anhui Medical University in the first half of 2023 were selected as the research objects.The medical students was investigated by self-designed questionnaire on cognition and demand of VR technology applied to clinical skills training.Results Medical students had low awareness and participation in the application of VR technology in clinical skills training,but the demand was high level.There were some differences in the cognition and demand of VR technology applied to clinical skills training among medical students of different genders and different categories.Conclusion Medical colleges and universities should strengthen the promotion of VR technology and the popularization of equipment,and apply the clinical skills training mode of the combination of VR technology and traditional teaching to improve the teaching level and promote the development of education and medical care.
