Analysis of homocysteine level in elderly patients with hyperuricemia
Objective To analyze the homocysteine(HCY)level in elderly patients with hyperuricemia. Methods Among the elderly over 65 years old who came to Xiaodongmen Community Health Service Center,Huangpu District in Shanghai for free physical examination from January 2020 to June 2021,517 patients diagnosed with hyperuricemia were included in observation group, and 200 healthy people were included in control group. The physical examination items, biochemical indexes and HCY level of the two groups were compared. Results The waist-hip ratio, body mass index, diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the comparison within the observation group showed that the waist-hip ratio, body mass index, diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure in patients combined with hyperlipidemia and diabetes were significantly higher than those without complications, with hyperlipidemia and diabetes, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),total cholesterol(TC),creatinine(Cr),fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting insulin(FINS),homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),uric acid(UA)and HCY in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the comparison within the observation group showed that the levels of TG,LDL-C,TC,Cr,FBG,FINS,HOMA-IR,UA and HCY in patients combined with hyperlipidemia and diabetes were significantly higher than those in patients without complications, with hyperlipidemia and diabetes, the level of HDL-C was significantly lower than that in patients without complications, with hyperlipidemia and diabetes, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The level of HCY in elderly patients with hyperuricemia shows an increase, while down-regulating the level of HCY may reduce the risk of cerebrovascular accident in patients with hyperuricemia and combined with hyperlipidemia and diabetes, which deserves full attention in clinical practice.
