Application effect of hierarchical management and intervention of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with cognitive impairment in nursing homes
Objective To explore the application effect of hierarchical management and intervention of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with cognitive impairment in nursing homes. Methods A total of 330 elderly patients with cognitive impairment from 4 public pension institutions in Xuhui district were selected as the research objects. The patients who completed the follow up and evaluation were divided into control group(n=156)and observation group(n=148)by drawing lots. The control group was given routine nursing, drug treatment and general health management, while the observation group was given hierarchical management and intervention of cognitive impairment. The patients were evaluated before intervention from September to December 2020 and after intervention from September to December 2021.The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the Activities of Daily Living Scale(ADL)and Zarit care burden scale scores were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of physiological functioning,role-physical,general health, bodily pain, vitality, mental health and role-emotional in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Hierarchical management and intervention of cognitive impairment can help improve the cognitive function of elderly patients with cognitive impairment in nursing homes, improve daily living ability and quality of life, and reduce the care burden of caregivers.
