Investigation on the current situation and influencing factors of doctor-patient relationship based on the perspective of medical staff
Objective To analyze the current situation of doctor-patient relationship and its influencing factors from the perspective of medical staff.Methods From January 2015 to December 2020,the cluster sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on the doctor-patient relationship among medical staff with different seniority in three tertiary hospitals in Wuwei city,Gansu province,and the current situation of doctor-patient relationship and main influencing factors were analyzed.Results In this study,1 375 valid questionnaires were collected.The medical staff thought that the doctor-patient relationship was very harmonious accounted for 2.47% ,relatively harmonious accounted for 11.27% ,general harmonious accounted for 59.78% ,and disharmony accounted for 26.47% .The basis for judging the doctor-patient relationship ranked first for their own feelings,accounting for 66.04% .82.33% of the medical staff believed that a harmonious doctor-patient relationship should be a mutual trust-understanding-help relationship.57.42% of the medical staff believed that the lack of relevant medical knowledge of patients and poor compliance with examination and treatment were the main patients'responsibilities leading to the disharmony of doctor-patient relationship;63.86% of the medical staff believed that the lack of communication between doctors and patients was the main medical responsibility leading to the disharmony of doctor-patient relationship;84.68% of the medical staff thought that the medical security was not enough,and the high cost of treatment was the main social and government responsibility that leads to the disharmony between doctors and patients.87.93% of the medical staff believed that harmonious doctor-patient interaction depended on the ability of communication and understanding between doctors and patients;42.11% of the medical staff believed that the key factor to build a harmonious doctor-patient relationship was to strengthen the communication between medical staff and patients;41.38% of the medical staff believed that the medical security system should be established and improved,and the government investment should be increased.Conclusion The lack of doctor-patient communication,the lack of relevant medical knowledge of patients and the high cost of treatment are the main factors leading to the disharmony of doctor-patient relationship.It is suggested to strengthen the communication mechanism between doctors and patients,establish and improve the medical system,carry out reasonable media publicity and guidance to improve the doctor-patient relationship.
