Analysis of dietary compliance and its influencing factors in overweight/obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Objective To explore the dietary compliance of overweight/obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and analyze its influencing factors. Methods From May 1 to December 30,2021,276 inpatients with T2DM in three tertiary hospitals in Haikou City were recruited by convenient sampling.According to the Asian adult body mass index(BMI)standard, the patients were divided into overweight/obese group and normal/lean group. The general data and clinical indicators of the two groups were compared, and multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of dietary compliance in overweight/obese patients with T2DM.Results A total of 260 valid questionnaires were collected.Overweight/obese patients accounted for 42.3% (110/260).The age,the age of diabetes diagnosis, the scores of each dimension and the total score of Influence Factors of Dietary Behavior Compliance Scale for Patients with T2DM(T2DM-CFIDBS)in the overweight/obese group were significantly lower than those in the normal/lean group(P<0.05);the proportion of 20 to 59 years old, without medical insurance, and with a course of 5 years or less in the overweight/obese group were higher than that in the normal/lean group(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that Diabetes Self-Efficacy Scale(DSES)score and family history of diabetes were independent factors affecting dietary compliance in overweight/obese patients with T2DM(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with normal/lean T2DM patients,overweight/obese T2DM patients have worse dietary compliance. It is necessary to focus on overweight/obese T2DM patients with a family history of diabetes, and focus on improving dietary compliance from the aspect of self-efficacy education.
