Efficacy and safety of percutaneous trigeminal nerve microsphere compression and microscopic microvascular decompression assisted by neuronavigation and C-arm in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia
Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of percutaneous trigeminal nerve microballoon compression and microscopic microvascular decompression assisted by neuronavigation and C-arm in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. Methods A total of 84 patients with trigeminal neuralgia admitted in our hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the research objects, and the patients were divided into balloon group(42 cases, percutaneous trigeminal nerve microsphere compression assisted by neuronavigation and C-arm)and microvascular group(42 cases, microscopic microvascular decompression assisted by neuronavigation and C-arm).The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The recurrence rate within 1 year after surgery and the total incidence of complications in the microvascular group were significantly lower than those in the balloon group(P<0.05).The operation time and total hospitalization time of the microvascular group were significantly longer than those of the balloon group(P<0.05).After surgery, the levels of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHdG),superoxide dismutase(SOD),total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),norepinephrine(NE),cortisol(Cor)and myeloperoxidase(MPO)in the microvascular group were significantly higher than those in the balloon group(P<0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous trigeminal nerve microsphere compression and microscopic microvascular decompression assisted by neuronavigation and C-arm can achieve better curative effect in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, but the latter has a better prognosis than the former, and the former has a smaller surgical stress response than the latter,it is necessary to con-sider the patients'tolerance and indications in clinical selection.
