Research progress on the role of TNF-α/NF-κB signaling pathway in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and regulation of traditional Chinese medicine
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a common respiratory disease with high morbidity and mortality, which significantly affects the quality of life of patients.Existing clinical drug treatment options bring heavy physical, mental and economic burden to patients because of their many side effects and poor efficacy. At the same time, the specific mechanism of COPD remains unclear, which also brings some difficulty to the treatment. Therefore, elucidating the underlying mechanism and proposing safe and effective treatment options are urgent problems to be solved in the current clinical treatment of COPD.Numerous studies have demonstrated that tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)/nuclear transcription factor kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathway plays a crucial role in the development of COPD;traditional Chinese medicine has the characteristics of multiple targets, multiple components and low side effects in the prevention and treatment of COPD,of which there are many traditional Chinese medicine compounds and active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine that target and regulate the TNF-α/NF-κB signaling pathway. This article reviews the regulation of TNF-α/NF-κB signaling pathway on COPD in recent years and the research progress of TNF-α/NF-κB signaling pathway targeted regulation by traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of COPD,in order to provide some clues for clinical treatment of COPD.
