Application effect of 810 nm low level light therapy in senescence-related musculopenia rats
Objective To explore the application effect of 810 nm low level light therapy(LLLT)in senescence-related musculopenia rats. Methods Twelve 18-month-old male rats were randomly divided into control group and light group, with 6 rats in each group. The control group was given incandescent lamp light source irradiation, and the light group was given 810 nm weak light irradiation. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results At 4 and 8 weeks of light exposure, the walking distance and rod time in the light group were longer than those in the control group(P<0.05);at 8 weeks of light exposure, the upper limb grip strength in the light group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The cross-sectional area of muscle fibers in the light group was larger than that in the control group, the degree of fibrosis was lower than that in the control group, and the muscle mass was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The expression of Myostatin gene in the light group was lower than that in the control group, and the expression of Myogenin gene was higher than that in the control group(P<0.001).The expression levels of p16 and p21 in the light group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01);the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1α(IL-1α),matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3)and matrix metalloproteinase-13(MMP-13)in the light group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion 810 nm LLLT can slow down the aging of muscle tissue in senescence-related musculopenia rats, increase muscle tissue regeneration, and improve muscle strength, balance ability and activity.
