Comparison of clinical effects of titanium plate with loop and lower tibiofibular screw internal fixation in the treatment of ankle joint fracture combined with instability of the lower tibiofibular joint
Objective To compare the clinical effects of titanium plate with loop and lower tibiofibular screw internal fixation in the treatment of ankle joint fracture combined with instability of the lower tibiofibular joint.Methods A total of 82 patients with ankle joint fracture combined with instability of the lower tibiofibular joint admitted in our hospital from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the research objects,and the patients were divided into screw group(41 cases,treated with lower tibiofibular screw internal fixation)and loop titanium plate group(41 cases,treated with titanium plate with loop internal fixation)according to different fixation methods.The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The excellent and good rate of treatment in the loop titanium plate group was significantly higher than that in the screw group(P<0.05).The operation time,bed rest time,wound healing time and fracture healing time of the loop titanium plate group were significantly shorter than those of the screw group,and the intraoperative blood loss was significantly less than that of the screw group(P<0.05).After operation,Baird-Jackson ankle score,medial clear space(MCS),tibiofibular clear space(TFCS)and bone mineral density(BMD)in the loop titanium plate group were significantly higher than those in the screw group,and tibiofibular overlap(TFO)was significantly lower than that in the screw group(P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative adverse events and complications in the loop titanium plate group was significantly lower than that in the screw group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with ankle joint fracture combined with instability of the lower tibiofibular joint,titanium plate with loop has better prognostic effect than lower tibiofibular screw internal fixation.
