Clinical effect of compound pholcodine combined with montelukast sodium in the treatment of acute bronchitis in children
Objective To explore the clinical effect of compound pholcodine combined with montelukast sodium in the treatment of acute bronchitis in children. Methods A total of 106 children with acute bronchitis admitted in our hospital from December 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects, and the children were divided into control group and combined group by random number table method, with 53 cases in each group. The control group was treated with montelukast sodium, and the combined group was treated with compound pholcodine on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the combined group was 94.34%,which was significantly higher than 81.13%in the control group(P<0.05).The time of body temperature recovery, cough disappearance, expectoration disappearance, lung sign disappearance and hospitalization time in the combined group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the tidal volume(V-T)and ratio of time to peak tidal expiratory flow and total expiratory time(TPEF/TE)in the combined group were higher than those in the control group, respiratory rate(RR)and inspiratory time/expiratory time(Ti/Te)were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of α1-acid glycoprotein(α1-AG),haptoglobin(HP),hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),cysteinyl leukotrienes(CysLTs),monocyte chemotactic protein-4(MCP-4)and procalcitonin(PCT)in the combined group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compound pholcodine combined with montelukast sodium has a significant effect in the treatment of acute bronchitis in children, which can accelerate the recovery of the disease, reduce airway inflammation and improve lung function.
