Diagnostic value of serum procalcitonin, serum amyloid A protein and interleukin-6 levels for liver cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection
Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of serum procalcitonin(PCT),serum amyloid A protein(SAA)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels for liver cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection. Methods A total of 109 patients with liver cirrhosis admitted from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects, including 82 patients with suspected ascites infection(infection group)and 27 patients without ascites infection(non-infection group). Then serum PCT,SAA and IL-6 levels were detected in all patients after admission. The detection results of the infection group and the non-infection group and the diagnostic efficacy of single and combined detection of PCT,SAA and IL-6 for liver cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection were compared. Results The levels of PCT,SAA and IL-6 in the infected group were higher than those in the non-infection group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the diagnostic accuracy and sensitivity of PCT,SAA and IL-6 single detection for liver cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection(P>0.05);there was no significant difference in the diagnostic specificity of PCT,SAA,IL-6 single and combined detection for liver cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection(P>0.05);the diagnostic accuracy and sensitivity of combined detection for cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection were higher than those of PCT,SAA and IL-6 single detection, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined detection of serum PCT,SAA and IL-6 is of high value in the diagnosis of liver cirrhosis complicated with ascites infection, which can provide scientific basis for early treatment of the disease.
