Diagnostic value of ultrasound and CT in sodium urate crystal deposition in patients with gout
Objective To compare the diagnostic value of ultrasound and CT for sodium urate crystal deposition in patients with gout. Methods Eighty six patients with gout admitted from March 2020 to March 2022 were selected as the research objects. All patients underwent ultrasound,CT and pathological examination. With pathological examination as the gold standard, the diagnostic value of ultrasound and CT for sodium urate crystal deposition in patients with gout was compared, and the main ultrasonic signs of gout patients in different periods were analyzed. Results A total of 121 joints were examined in 86 patients with gout, and 72 joints were found to be positive for sodium urate crystal deposition by pathological examination. There were 69 positive joints by ultrasound scanning and 70 positive joints by CT scanning. There was no significant difference in the diagnostic efficacy of ultrasound and CT for sodium urate crystal deposition(P>0.05).The ultrasonic signs of patients with asymptomatic hyperuricemia were mostly negative;the ultrasonic signs of patients in acute and chronic stages were mostly positive, mainly double-track sign and tophi. Conclusion Ultrasound and CT have certain clinical diagnostic value for sodium urate crystal deposition in patients with gout, and ultrasound has more advantages in the first choice of diagnostic methods;positive ultrasound signs are more common in patients with acute and chronic gout, and double-track sign and tophi are common ultrasound signs.
