Effect of rapid intravenous infusion of hypertonic salt solution on prognosis of patients with brain trauma and shock in emergency surgery department
Objective To investigate the effect of rapid intravenous infusion of hypertonic salt solution on prognosis of patients with brain trauma and shock in emergency surgery department. Methods A total of 84 patients with brain trauma and shock admitted in the emergency surgery department of our hospital from October 2020 to October 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into observation group(n=42,rapid intravenous infusion of hypertonic salt solution)and control group(n=42,mannitol + sodium bicarbonate injection)by random number table method. The vital signs,Glasgow Coma Score(GCS),National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)scores and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results After 30 min and 2 h of treatment, the respiratory rate, heart rate(HR)and urine volume of the observation group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).After 1 week of treatment, the GCS and MMSE scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the NIHSS score was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Rapid intravenous infusion of hypertonic salt solution can effectively improve vital signs and restore nerve function in patients with brain trauma and shock.
