Diagnostic value of FNAC combined with FNA-Tg detection in cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirate cytology(FNAC)combined with fine-needle aspiration washout thyroglobulin(FNA-Tg)in cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC).Methods The clinical data of 200 PTC patients who underwent cervical lymph node dissection were retrospectively analyzed, and 236 suspicious metastatic lymph nodes were evaluated by preoperative ultrasound in the lateral cervical region. The 178 metastatic lymph nodes and 58 non-metastatic lymph nodes were confirmed by postoperative pathology, all patients underwent FNAC and FNA-Tg examinations. The diagnostic results and diagnostic efficacy of FNAC,FNA-Tg,FNAC combined with FNA-Tg were compared with postoperative pathological results as the gold standard. Results The sensitivity, accuracy and negative predictive value of the FNAC combined with FNA-Tg in diagnosing lymph node metastasis in the cervical region of PTC were higher than those of the single diagnostic method, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion FNAC and FNA-Tg detection methods can be used to diagnose cervical lymph node metastasis of PTC in clinical practice, and the combined detection can further improve the diagnostic efficiency,it is worthy of promotion and application.
