Research progress in ultrasound diagnosis of adenomyosis
Adenomyosis, also known as endogenous endometriosis,is a benign lesion caused by the erosion of functional endometrial glandular cells and interstitial cells to the myometrium and the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells,it can also be understood that there are endometrial glands and stroma in the myometrium, and the endometrium invades the myometrium like a diverticulum.Adenomyosis is one of the common benign diseases in gynecology,it is common in multipara, and the pathogenesis is not yet clear, which may be related to injury(curettage, cesarean section),viral infection, hyperestrogenemia, hyperprolactinemia, reproductive tract obstruction, immune and genetic factors.Ultrasound is currently the most commonly used method for clinical diagnosis of adenomyosis, which is divided into A-type(one-dimensional),B-type(two-dimensional)and C-type(three-dimensional)ultrasound diagnosis, and the diagnostic accuracy can be improved by contrast technology and ultrasound elastography;ultrasound examination is non-invasive,inexpensive,convenient and well tolerated.
