Application effect of WeChat platform combined with CBL in extracurricular probation of gastroenterology department
Objective To explore the application effect of WeChat platform combined with case based learning(CBL)in extracurricular probation of gastroenterology department.Methods A total of 52 medical students from Class 191 and Class 192 of Affiliated Hospital of Jiaxing University were selected as the experimental group(WeChat platform combined with CBL for extracurricular probation teaching),and 56 medical students from Class 193 and Class 194 were selected as the control group(traditional classroom probation teaching).Questionnaires were used to collect topics of interest in gastroenterology department among medical students in the experimental group;and the teaching effect of the experimental group was evaluated by questionnaire survey;the test scores and the score distribution of the two groups were compared.Results Medical students in the experimental group were interested in gastroenterology department included clinical cases(24/37),operation video(7/37)and clinical treatment(5/37)and so on.The satisfaction of medical students in the experimental group with traditional classroom probation teaching,WeChat platform combined with CBL teaching method,classroom effect,classroom participation and discussion,and learning method guidance was 100%.The score distribution of the experimental group was better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.016).Conclusion In the extracurricular probation teaching of gastroenterology department,WeChat platform combined with CBL can well mobilize the enthusiasm and participation of medical students in learning,improve the examination results,and the distribution of excellent and good people is more,which is worthy of popularization and application in teaching.
