Research progress on the correlation between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obesity in children and its potential mechanism
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is a common neurodevelopmental disorder in school age,which affects children's life and learning.ADHD in adulthood will have cognitive and behavioral disorders.In recent years,the prevalence of ADHD has been increasing due to changes in living habits and social pressure.Studies have found that obesity will aggravate the core symptoms of ADHD and have a negative impact on the daily life of children with ADHD.More and more studies have found that there is a wide relationship between obesity and ADHD,but the current research direction is the pathological mechanism of ADHD and obesity comorbidity,mainly focusing on imaging,neurobiochemistry and genetics.The purpose of this article is to comprehensively elaborate the pathogenesis and potential pathophysiological mechanisms of obesity affecting ADHD,so as to promote multi-faceted medical management of ADHD children,and is of great significance for the development of drugs for the treatment of ADHD.
