Analysis of the characteristics of asking other departments to contact consultation of psychiatry department inpatients in general hospitals
Objective To sort out the information of consultation with other departments during the hospitalization of psychiatric department inpatients in general hospitals,and to analyze the situation of physical diseases of psychiatry department inpatients in general hospitals.Methods The demographic data,hospitalization data and consultation records of 1 890 psychiatry department inpatients in general hospitals were collected,and the inpatients were divided into consultation group(n=395)and non-consultation group(n=1 495)according to whether they had been consulted during hospitalization.The gender,age,hospital stay and hospitalization cost of the two groups were compared;the consultation information of the consultation group was statistically analyzed,and the consultation characteristics of patients with different mental disorders were analyzed.Results The age,proportion of middle-aged people,proportion of elderly people,hospital stay and hospitalization cost in the consultation group were significantly higher than those in the non-consultation group(P＜0.05).The top six departments with the highest number of consultations were endocrinology department,neurology department,cardiology department,otolaryngology department,dermatology department and ophthalmology department.The proportion of patients with anxiety disorder and depression disorder requesting consultation for physical discomfort was higher than that of patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder,and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.001,0.032);the proportion of patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder requesting consultation due to accidental injury was higher than that of patients with anxiety disorder and depression disorder,and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.002,0.025).Conclusion Patients with different mental disorders have different characteristics of consultation.In addition to professional knowledge,psychiatrists should have some ability to diagnose and treat common chronic diseases and physical problems,and maintain close contact with the neurological department.
