Effects of three root canal filling methods on chronic pulpitis and periapical periodontitis and its influences on GI,SBI,PD and IL-1β level
Objective To compare the influences of three root canal filling methods on gingival index(GI),sulcus bleeding index(SBI),pocket depth(PD)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)level in patients with chronic pulpitis and periapical periodontitis. Methods From October 2020 to December 2021,120 patients with chronic pulpitis and periapical periodontitis admitted to our hospital were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into group A,B and C,with 40 cases in each group. The group A was treated with cold gutta-percha lateral compression root canal filling, the group B was treated with hot gutta-percha root canal filling, and the group C was treated with single tip root canal filling. The GI,SBI,PD and IL-1β level of the three groups were compared, and the root canal filling time and filling quality were evaluated. Results After treatment, the GI,SBI,PD and IL-1β level of the three groups significantly decreased, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment, the GI,SBI,PD and IL-1β level in the group B and the group C were lower than those in the group A,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment, there were no significant differences in GI,SBI,PD and IL-1β level between the group B and the group C(P>0.05).Each root canal filling time of the group A was(156.93±9.53)s,the group B was(83.70±6.33)s,the group C was(57.30±5.25)s,and the differences between the three groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the pass rate of root canal filling quality among the three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The hot gutta-percha root canal filling and single tip root canal filling applied in the treatment of pulpitis and periapical periodontitis can effectively decrease the GI,SBI,PD and IL-1β level of patients, reduce the chairside operation time, and has high clinical application value, which is worthy of promotion.
