Study on static and dynamic plantar pressure distribution of adolescents and adults
Objective To evaluate plantar pressure through plantar pressure analysis technique,so as to investigate the difference in plantar pressure distribution between adolescents and adults. Methods Twenty adolescent subjects and 20 adult subjects were recruited. The static and dynamic plantar pressure of the subjects were collected by FreeMed plantar pressure analysis test board.Statically, the subjects stood in the central position of the force platform in the test position, and the plantar pressure distribution data when the eyes were open and closed were collected;dynamically,at the beginning of the experiment, the subjects were asked to go back and forth on the test board for 6 times with their normal gait and self-selected speed, and the dynamic plantar pressure distribution data were collected. Results The plantar pressure load of the left forefoot in the adolescent group was lower than that in the adult group, and the plantar pressure load of the left and right hindfoot were higher than those in the adult group(P<0.05).The maximum pressure and average pressure of the left and right feet in the adolescent group were lower than those in the adult group(P<0.05).Conclusion Although the overall plantar pressure load distribution of adolescents and adults is similar, the main load is on the hindfoot;however, adolescents has more significant hindfoot load, and adults has more significant forefoot load.In addition, adolescents and adults showed a similar trend in the forefoot and hindfoot load ratio and the left and right medial load ratio of the left and right feet.
