Analysis of prevalence and influencing factors of hyperuricemia in patients with essential hypertension
Objective To investigate the preva lence of hyperuricemia(HUA)in patients with essential hypertension and analyze its possible influencing factors. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on 265 patients with essential hypertension who were hospitalized in the Wuhan Fourth Hospital from September to December 2022.According to the level of serum uric acid(SUA),the patients were divided into HUA group and non-HUA group, and the possible influencing factors of HUA in patients with essential hypertension were analyzed. Results The total prevalence of HUA in 265 patients with essential hypertension was 30.19%,and the prevalence of men was higher than that of women(P<0.001).There was a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of HUA among patients with essential hypertension in different age groups(P<0.001).There were statistically significant differences in age, gender, body mass index(BMI),BMI classification, waist circumference, and the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and triacylglycerol(TG)between the two groups(P<0.05).Spearman correlation test showed that SUA level in patients with essential hypertension was negatively correlated with HDL-C and positively correlated with TG and total cholesterol(TC)(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age, gender,BMI and TG were the influencing factors of HUA in patients with essential hypertension(P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of HUA in patients with essential hypertension is high, and there are gender differences;the factors affecting the occurrence of HUA in patients with essential hypertension are age, gender,BMI and TG.
